Music is a divine expression that manifests itself in many glorious
forms. And like the countless enchantments of its native homeland of
Haiti, Delta Records music library reflects this diverse phenomenon. Under
Deltaıs umbrella you will find the sounds of compa, merengue, vodou,
racine, troubadou, folklore and religious/gospel.
Founded in 1981 by producer Gesner Rigaud, Delta Records was built on a
strong foundation - its first act was the dynamic and highly-acclaimed
group, Bossa Combo. Today Delta represents 23 artistes and counting! With
its headquarters in the cultural melting pot that is Brooklyn, NY, Delta
has extended its musical borders beyond Haiti to work with artists from
Martinique, Guadeloupe, French-speaking African countries and Latin
America.
With its mission to take cultural music to the center stage of
international platforms, Delta Records has been at the forefront of
grassroots efforts for the recognition this music so greatly deserves. For
example, when rifts were formed between Nemours Jean-Baptiste and Webert
Sicot, two of the great musicians Delta has had the pleasure of working
with, Rigaud approached them with a progressive solution - he joined their
talents for the collaborative album, Union. Recognizing that these artists
are two of the greats who have inspired todayıs bands to a large extent,
Delta Records took necessary action.
Today Delta Records continues its tradition of connecting audiences
with quality sounds from the cultural centers of the world.
